Historical Preservation
This project was designed during my summer internship with J. Jilich Design & Associates. The historical home is located in downtown Charleston, S.C. and is occupied by a family of four. The main focus of the project was to keep the historical preservation status of the home while designing a livable space for the client. There was a design budget of $150,000 for the main floor and the overall design came in under budget. Existing furniture pieces were incorporated into the design along with new furniture selections.
Residential
GIFF Student residence
This is the Guanajuato International Film Festival student residence located in Mexico. The top 12 student filmmakers from all over the world will attend the festival with the intention of creating their best work during their stay in San Miguel. My job as the designer was to give these individuals a feeling of inspiration and form a stimulating environment so that they would reach their full level of success.
During my internship with J. Jilich Design & Associates I designed this historical residential home located in Charleston, S.C. I was given the existing floor plan with a list of client requirements needed for a family of four who occupied the home. This is the final design of the main floor plan in the house, consisting of a kitchen, dining room, library, and living room.
This floor plan was one of the designs I developed when working on the main floor plan for the home. It is provided to show the steps of design taken in order to reach the final design solution.
The rendering was done using marker and colored pencil. All fabrics chosen for the room are depicted on the furniture pieces.

My design process includes going through rough space planning and making notes on trace paper in order to get the big picture of the space. "Cuarto" is the Spanish name for room. It was important to try and use the native language in order to make the design more clear to the client.
